Licia took a 6 week creative/spiritual odyssey to southern France in the summer of 2016, a kind of pilgrimage with the goal of finding Black Madonnas. What she discovered exceeded her expectation. With 3000 photographs of sacred spaces and figures, as well as Madonnas of ALL colors, she became fascinated with the idea of marrying the images of the Sacred Feminine of her indigenous heritage with the Marion tradition. With the back-drop of the cosmos, it is her intention to show that the spiritual traditions we hold dear hearken back to a universal love.
